17/04/2026A building management system (BMS) is a comprehensive system that allows for the control of all technical systems within a building, such as electrical systems, water supply, air conditioning and ventilation, environmental monitoring, security, fire alarm and firefighting systems, etc., ensuring the accurate and timely operation of building equipment.
What does a BMS manage?

17/04/2026Central Monitoring and Control Station:
Includes a packaged industrial computer with licensed SCADA software for monitoring, controlling, and data acquisition of the water treatment system.
The computers in the plant access the water treatment SCADA system, viewing real-time data and the actual operating status of the equipment.
System operators can view an overview of the distributed locations in the plant and assign each computer a different task to the system. For example: one machine to monitor input parameters, one machine to generate system reports, one machine to provide system alerts, etc.
Intermediate data acquisition station:
Includes switches and Unitronics PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) to collect and transmit data to the SCADA system of the monitoring center.
PLCs communicate with actuators such as:
– pH sensors, pressure sensors, level sensors, sludge sensors, etc.
– Switching control devices
– Motors in the system, etc.
Human-Machine Interface (HMI)
The HMI screen has an Ethernet connection to access the plant's SCADA system. This allows for direct monitoring and control operations on the screen.
SCADA software with full system management and control functions:
– Real-time data collection
– System data storage
– Real-time and historical graph plotting– System alerts
– System report generation
– Remote monitoring access via Winform and Webform interfaces.
SCADA with full distributed monitoring and control functions is designed with an OPEN ARCHITECTURE: interactive PLUGINS, interactive COMPONENTS, and interactive SERVICES are the latest software technologies currently available, creating Cloud and Web environments that make ATSCADA UNIQUE.See more
17/04/2026Server computers (which contain the entire system database) are used in large-scale projects requiring high security, often with a redundant server (primary server/standby server). However, smaller plants may only need one server to save costs.Operating computers (human-machine interfaces) allow operators to monitor parameters, status, and operating modes of equipment in the plant, as well as issue remote control commands to the entire plant or individual systems. The number of operating computers depends on the size and operational needs of the plant, usually one (small plant), two (medium plant), or more.Engineering stations are computers used to maintain the control system, fully installed with software and connected to the control system. Technical computers are typically laptops; however, smaller plants may integrate them into server computers to save costs.A fault printer and a real-time system connected to GPS synchronize the time for all devices in the system.PLCs, including the controller (USC-104-M10) and input/output (I/O) modules, are the components that directly receive status signals, process logic, and issue control commands to the hydroelectric plant's equipment. The controller (USC-104-M10) can only be a single CPU as it does not support redundant CPU operation. I/O modules can be centralized (directly connected to the CPU) or distributed (connected to the CPU via Profibus, Modbus, etc. protocols). The PLC supports 2048 I/Os, allowing for easy expansion and connection.
HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screens allow operators to monitor parameters, status, and operating modes of equipment in the plant, as well as issue local control commands for the entire plant or individual systems.Unitronics PLC (USC-104-M10)See more
